Arts reflection

This term we have been learning to connect with the arts.

We did a performance yesterday in the middle of town. I thought it went really well because we involved the audience. My highlights of the day was when Ari and Max played the guitar and Mrs Bentall sang the song All of Me.

We involved the audience by eye contact and talking to the audience. This helped me connect with audience because if i just looked away they wouldn't be able to hear me and if they can't hear me then they wouldn't be able to connect or get involved.

Once we finished our performance the audience gazed and stared in amazement because our performance was so good. They also cheered and whistled for us. I felt really proud of myself.

I can identify how these connect to cultural values whanaungatanga manaakitia kotahitanga for example whanaungatanga is like to relate to others or connect to other people.  I saw other people dancing but having a conversation about how good the music and performances for example that is whanaungatanga because they were relating to others and connecting with each other.

I will continue connecting with people because I play guitar. I can connect with people by playing for them. This term we have been learning to connect with the arts.
